      WindKraft 1.5

The Key Benefits

n Very Quiet Operation           n Smaller Rotor Diameter
n Broad Power Production      n Range Attractive Design

The patented WindKraftTM 1.5 kW system is constructed as a two-joined wing rotor.
The carbon fiber reinforced plastic wing plan form can be viewed as a helix/sinusoid scribed
around a sphere creating a continuous propulsion element.  Absence of wingtips reduces drag
and dramatically lowers operating noise and vibrations.  Aerodynamically, wind tunnel tests
indicate that this design causes the air stream down wind of the leading wing to rotate.  It is
theorized that this spiral flow channels the wind energy toward the aft center of the sphere where
it can enhance the performance of the aft wing.

The patented alternating current generator is an iron free, lightweight and a compact
modular (scaleable) unit. Its construction includes rotating disks that house the permanent
“rare earth” (Neodymium [nd-fe-b]) magnets (PM) providing the fluctuating electromagnetic
energy field. The coils are fixed to a circular platen structure and configured in a radial
pattern - sandwiched between the PM disks.

The anemometer and the wind vane feed inputs to the computer control unit that adjusts
the system to the changing wind environment and supports feeding the electricity to the electrical
grid (inverter) or directly to charge a battery pack.

Projected Performance:

Early wind tunnel and separate generator tests indicate performance equal to present-day designs
but with a smaller frontal rotor diameter and with very low noise.

Actual performance data will be published after testing at West Texas A&M University, Canyon.
